Workplace Mental Health Resources for Canadian Employers provided to Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace by Working 4 Wellness

In their effort to reduce or better manage the impacts of mental health issues in the workplace, employers might seek specialized services or support in a number of areas, including: Mental health awareness & stigma reduction; return-to-work, accommodation and stay at work services for individuals with mental health issues; conflict resolution; human rights advice including legal advice; leadership training and management training; and mentally healthy workplace initiatives.

In many cases, employers already work with various providers of services such as a group benefits, employee assistance plans, benefits consulting, etc. Providers of these services, such as Great-West Life, can often be a good source of support or information. For those employers who do not have access to such support, or who wish alternative providers, the Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace offers information on organizations which have expertise related to mental health and are active in providing service in the above mentioned areas. See the sections below for more information about available services and links to service providers. This information was compiled by Working 4 Wellness for the Great-West Life Centre for Mental Health in the Workplace.

It is important to note that the resource information included here is not a comprehensive list of all organizations providing service in these areas. As well the Centre is not in a position to recommend providers or to make any assertion relating to the quality of a provider's work. See Methodology for more information about the criteria used by Working 4 Wellness to compile this resource information.
