Role Clarity
Employees need to know what is expected of them.
- Be clear about what the employee is responsible for, rather than just a list of tasks (e.g. creating the best quality automobiles vs. attaching widgets).
- Be clear about boundaries (e.g. can innovate providing all health and safety standards as found in the organizations safety manual are met).
- Do not tell your employees exactly "how to do it." Talk about outcomes.
- Follow up – this is an ongoing process.
